About This Course

This course aims to introduce you to information and cyber security. You will learn and apply concepts in information and cyber security through examples and scenarios. At the end of the course, you will be able to articulate the importance of, and adopt appropriate information and cyber security measures.

What you'll learn

Knowledge & Understanding (Theory Component)

By the end of this course, you should be able to

  • Explain what is information and cyber security with confidence.
  • Discuss the importance of sound information and cyber security practices by using case examples and scenarios.
  • Explain how to incorporate business continuity principles into daily tasks.

Key Skills (Practical Component)

By the end of this course, you should be able to:

  • Review the Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability (CIA) triad.
  • Apply the prevent-detect-correct approaches to mitigate information and cyber security threats in various business and personal situations.
  • Apply business continuity strategies to prevent-detect-correct information and cyber security threats.

Assessment

Assessment Description
Topic 1 Online quiz 1 (5 MCQs)
Topic 2 Online quiz 2 (5 MCQs)
Topic 3 Online quiz 3 (5 MCQs)

You must complete a quiz for every topic with a passing score of 80% (i.e., 4 out of 5 questions). You will be given four attempts to achieve the passing score. The system will only capture the highest of the scores.

Prerequisites

This course does not have any pre-requisites. We do, however, make certain assumptions about your learning abilities, which we describe as assumed knowledge and skills. Learners in this course are assumed to:

  • have analytical, communication and technical skills neccessary for online learning

Online Instructor

This course is designed for self-directed learninig, there is no instructor for this course.
